Tamil cinema has always embraced films that combine entertainment with meaningful social messages. Continuing that tradition, “Sey Seyyathe (Do’s & Don’ts)” is a medical awareness drama that highlights the human side of healthcare while emphasizing family values, social responsibility, and the importance of making informed health decisions.
One of the major highlights of the film is the special appearance of senior BJP leader H. Raja, whose pivotal role adds greater depth and impact to the film’s central message.
Produced under the banner of Harini Subbu Cine Creations, the film is produced by Subbulakshmi Jeyaram, a B.Sc. Nursing graduate based in California, USA. With a vision of delivering socially relevant cinema blended with commercial entertainment, she has backed this meaningful project.
The story, screenplay, dialogues, and direction are by Dr. S. Raja, a medical doctor and filmmaker who brings together years of professional experience in the healthcare sector in India and the United States. Drawing from real-life medical experiences, he has crafted a thought-provoking film that makes healthcare awareness accessible and engaging for audiences.
Actor Guru Vijay plays the lead role, supported by Darshini Reddy, Dabitha Gunaratne, Monica Preethi V., and child artiste Pratheeksha Mano Prashanth. Dr. S. Raja also appears in the film as Guru Vijay’s father.
Rather than offering lectures, Sey Seyyathe addresses contemporary issues such as self-medication, relying solely on internet health advice, substance abuse, and the misuse of prescription drugs through an engaging cinematic narrative.
The film goes beyond portraying doctors alone. It highlights the collective efforts of doctors, nurses, sanitation workers, hospital administrators, and the public healthcare system, emphasizing that every member of the healthcare ecosystem plays a vital role in saving lives. It reinforces the idea that medicine is not just about treatment—it is about compassion, responsibility, teamwork, trust, and humanity.
Shot across the picturesque locations of Tirunelveli, Madurai, Kodaikanal, and surrounding regions, the film has been mounted on a budget of approximately ₹4 crore with high production values.
The cinematography is handled by Ramnadu Vasu P., while National Award-winning editor Raja Mohammad (of Paruthiveeran fame) has edited the film.
